The National Reined Cow Horse Association board of directors met on Thursday, Jan. 28, at the home of the Fort Dodge Animal Health Celebration of Champions – the First Community Credit Union Spur Arena in San Angelo, Texas.
While numerous items were presented for business, the big news was the election of the new board of directors and the appointment of the Executive Committee.
Former Rules Committee Chairman Kathy Gould, Raymond, Calif., was elected to the president’s position. “I have had the wonderful opportunity to serve on the NRCHA board and Executive Committee with Lyn Anderson. She has had such a positive impact on the reined cow horse industry, and is a great advocate for the NRCHA,” noted Gould, a former NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Non-Pro Champion.
“This will be a very exciting year for the NRCHA.We are planning some big announcements during the 2010 NRCHA Fort Dodge Animal Health Celebration of Champions and are looking forward to making this great association even better.”
Joining Gould are returning officers; Vice President Howard Erenberg, Santa Ynez, Calif.; Secretary Carol Rose, Gainesville, Texas; and Dave Archer, Clovis, Calif. as treasurer.
Jon Roeser, Lemoore, Calif., will return as Executive Committee member and chairman of the Show Committee. Paul Bailey, Sparta, Tenn., who serves as the chairman of the Non-Pro and Youth committees, is the newest Executive Committee member.
Sam Rose will become the Judges Committee chairman; Howard Erenberg will serve as the Ethics and Stallion Auction Committee chairman; Marilyn Peters is the Affiliate Committee chairman; Lyn Anderson is the new Rules Committee chairman; Jay McLaughlin will continue as the Marketing Committee chairman; Darren Miller will take over the reins as the Stock Horse News Committee chairman; Dave Archer is the Long Range Planning Committee chairman; Ronnie Richards is the Hall of Fame Committee chairman; and Carol Rose will continue as the Sponsorship Committee chairman.
