2009 MIDYEAR CUTTING STATISTICS PDF Print E-mail
Written by Robert Eubanks

About this section

This report is based on results of 2009 events through the end of June, researched and compiled by Equi-Stat, a division of Cowboy Publishing Group.

Results include aged events submitted to Quarter Horse News, as well as results from the National Cutting Horse Association World Championship Finals show in Amarillo, Texas, the Wayne Hodges Outlaw Conversions NCHA Eastern Nationals in Jackson, Miss., and the Wayne Hodges Outlaw Conversions NCHA Western Nationals in Ogden, Utah.

However, these statistics do not include results of open weekend shows approved by the NCHA or the American Cutting Horse Association, or smaller limited-age events that are approved to be held in conjunction with NCHA weekend shows. These results will be incorporated into our year-end statistics and will be included in our annual cutting statistical review, which will be printed in early 2010.

The charts include horses and riders in all ages, all divisions of competition, non-pro riders and non-pro horses, 4-year-old horses and their riders, leading sires, paternal grandsires, maternal grandsires, dams, owners, breeders and shows. Unlike years past, there were no closed stallion programs held in the first six months of 2009.

Editorial copy was written by Robert Eubanks and Mark Thompson and edited by Sonny Williams. All contents and statistics in this issue are copyrighted © 2009 by Cowboy Publishing Group.

Quarter Horse News appreciates cooperation of numerous show secretaries and other officials of cutting horse events across the United States and Canada. Our goal is to report complete news of cutting horse activity as soon as possible in our semimonthly publication. Aged-event results that were not received for inclusion in this report will be included in future statistical reports if submitted to Quarter Horse News.
