 Second District Court of Appeals justices are considering whether to leave standing an April, 2011, district judge’s decision favoring the National Cutting Horse Association or whether to reverse it and revert to a jury verdict that had favored suspended association member Lainie Whitmire following a 40-minute hearing in Fort Worth, Texas.

Sunrise Ranch LLC, Fayetteville, Ark., announced the purchase of Spots Hot on April 3. Ranch owner John Walker purchased the 2001 sorrel cutting stallion (Chula Dual x Sweet Shorty Lena x Shorty Lena), bred by Jody Galyean, Ardmore, Okla., from Wesley Galyean, Claremore, Okla.
According to Equi-Stat, "Spot" amassed $529,435 in his cutting career. As a sire, he has produced 43 money-earning offspring who have accumulated a total of $841,520.
