About this section

Statistical review reflects all earnings from the 2009 season.

This 25th annual Quarter Horse News Cutting Statistical Review contains information that was compiled, researched and tabulated by Equi-Stat, a division of Cowboy Publishing Group. Editorial information was written by Robert Eubanks, Mark Thompson, Katie Tims, Susan Morrison and Jessica Robbins Harms.

The principal charts included in this statistical review do not include closed stallion programs that are not all open to all stallions.

In order to afford readers with an overall review of the 2009 season’s payouts, Quarter Horse News is providing separate “with incentive” charts that reflect total money earned by horses and riders, regardless of whether a program was “Open” or “Closed.”

Equi-Stat was formed in 1985 by Morris Communications Corp., parent company of Cowboy Publishing Group and Quarter Horse News. Prior to the founding of Equi-Stat, there was no complete source of statistical information that included results from aged-event competition as well as weekend championship shows.

Thus, Equi-Stat has been able to generate a number of statistical issues that provide viable information for competitors, owners and breeders of performance horses. Equi-Stat is managed by Temple Read, who is assisted by Donna Timmons, Glenda Peysen, Tysha Franklin and Kim Glass.

The contents and statistics in this issue are copyrighted 2010 by Quarter Horse News, 2112 Montgomery St., Fort Worth, TX 76107; telephone 817-737-6397 or fax 817-727-9266.

Money attributed to a horse is the amount of money that particular horse won and is in no way related to who actually received the money. Also, monies attributed to riders are not the earnings of the rider, but rather monies awarded to all horses that particular rider rode in 2009.

The staff at Quarter Horse News appreciates the efforts of secretaries and other show officials who provide accurate and complete show results.
