April 26, 2011 - Weather forecasts for Texas this week are not helping the fire situation.
According to an article published by Reuters, "acreage burned in Texas in 2011 is almost at the record level set in 2006, when nearly 2 million acres were burned by wildfires. So far this year, more than 1.8 million acres have burned."
According to an article in the Fort Worth Business Press, the fires "have caused the loss of 349 head of cattle including 14 calves, and burning 900 miles of fences, said Carmen Fenton, director for the Fort Worth-based Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association."
